All signs are pointing towards a busy year end!

WeConsign Equip customers have been reaching out from all corners of the country looking for equipment, so we decided to take a look at the market numbers to see if we should be preparing for a boom. Here are some of our key takeaways:
Demand is Growing, but Supply is Dropping
According to this month's market reports from Sandhills Global, the for-sale inventory levels are dropping across every industry. Whether it's agricultural, construction, or transportation equipment, inventory levels month over month are dropping from anywhere between 1% to 17%. Sellers are keeping their equipment in preparation for a busy year ahead, while buyers are looking to invest more and more.
With this shift in supply and demand, asking prices are growing. Sandhills estimates that pricing has increased anywhere between 2% and 6% this month across farm equipment and heavy duty trucks.
Sellers Aren't Winning at the Auction
The latest round of auction trends from Ritchie Bros focused on construction and transportation equipment. Pricing in Canada showed weakness in Q2 of this year, with volume also decreasing. This tells us that both buyers and sellers are moving away from the traditional auction model and are looking for an alternative.
In Canada, truck tractor pricing declined at the auction on lower volume, but the price index for construction equipment grew by 11%, showing an anticipated strong investment in Canadian construction.
The Oil and Gas Market is Stirring
According to the Financial Post, the Canadian Oil and Gas industry is on track for the biggest dealmaking boom in a decade. With over $30 billion worth of mergers and acquisitions so far in 2026, analysts expect this number to surpass the previous highest dollar figure set in 2017.
With this level of investment in the Canadian Oil and Gas market, the door has opened not just for major corporate acquisitions, but also for new teams looking for their share of the profits. Companies in various stages of securing financing and acquiring assets are out there evaluating their opportunities, meaning the industry is about to see an emergence of fresh faced producers.
If you are looking to sell, now is the time.
